My entire adult life I have been enthralled by Hollywood and Los Angeles.  I am a film lover and I currently own over 100 DVDs!  Being a Visual Artist, I use film on a daily basis to help me relax when I need a break from working.

Psychedelic Eye Art & Surrealism in Film

I have always loved the film Vanilla Sky starring Tom Cruise.  The film would make a Visual Artist like myself stop and look!  The film is so fucked up that I believe it could even be considered surrealism.  One of the most haunting aspects of the film is the phrase "open your eyes," which is repeated over and over again.  I decided to name my latest ceramic tile art coaster "Psychedelic Eye" because there is a large eye right in the middle of the piece.  It is also loaded with beautiful colors and there are abstract and surreal elements in the piece.  If you are interested in gorgeous, vividly colorful, psychedelic art, here is a link to my Psychedelic Eye Art Coaster!

Total Recall Remake Sucks!

I recently went to see the remake of Total Recall in the theatre and I am sad to say that I got up and walked out of the theatre within 30 minutes of the start of the film. It SUCKED! A Great Undercover Police Action Film!

Deep Cover is one of the best movies about undercover police work that I have ever seen.  I am a big fan of Larry Fishburne and he definitely delivers in this film with a very cool performance.  I love films that feature Los Angeles, and the movie offers some nice skyline shots along with other locations and scenes that give the viewer a feel for L.A.  Also, there is some great music in the film, along with cool camera work.  If you are an action film fan or a fan of undercover police films, check this out.  The film came out in 1992, and Hollywood rarely has any theatre releases that are this hard hitting and cool.  Great job from Larry Fishburne, and director Bill Duke!  If you are interested in purchasing Deep Cover for yourself, click the Amazon link below. 

Education for Freedom!

Do you give a damn about freedom?  Does it bother you that we live in a free country yet most Americans seem to have no understanding of the true nature of freedom?  Today in America, freedom is being assaulted in all directions by corporations, the government and plain ignorance!  (There are many other insidious forces hell bent on STEALING your freedom!  I have only named some of the larger culprits in America.)

A Sexy Action Film You May Have Missed!

Are you an action film fan?  I recently purchased Point of No Return and I was completely blown away!  Bridget Fonda is very sexy and the premise of this film is totally cool!  Although this film was made in 1993, it offers hard hitting action with depth.  This type of action film seems to be totally lacking in the Hollywood theatre releases of today.  Hollywood has currently lost its balls and seems to think that the viewer will be satisfied with fluff and garbage.  (This only works if the viewer has no BRAIN!)  Anyway, if you enjoy action films, check this out to see what a REAL action film can be!  (Note to Hollywood:  Grow a pair of BALLS- I know you can do it!)  If you are interested in purchasing Point of No Return, click the Amazon link below.
